Post date: Feb 26, 2015 10:51:10 PM

The Cooks River Titans held its final team allocation day at Gough Whitlam Park on Wednesday 25th February.

Despite the inclement weather, players of all ages from as young as 5 and as old as 55 descended upon Gough Whitlam Park for their final grading and team allocation for the upcoming football season. These players will be Titans for 2015.

It was also fitting that in front of their fellow Titan club mates that two special awards were presented to two special players.

The Club organised a special award for the first Indigenous player to be registered for the Club. Jahkai Welsh-Tighe who is 5 this year was presented with a plaque recognising this occassion by special guest and Patron of the Cooks River Titans, the MP for Canterbury Ms Linda Burney. Jahkai's family was thrilled by the award and are looking forward to a successful and fun season with the Club.

Kyriakos Lazarides also received a plaque from the CDSFA recognising him as the first ever registered player for the Cooks River Titans. The award was brought down to the ground by the CEO of the CDSFA himself, Mr Ian Holmes and was again presented by Ms Burney. It will join the award which he also received from the club at it's recent Gala Day.

Ms Burney thanked all who attended and braved the conditions and wished every player and the Club all the very best for the 2015 season.
