Cooks River Titans set for Future Expansion with Acquisition of Waterworth Park
Post date: Apr 28, 2017 12:49:24 AM
The committee of Cooks River Titans FC (CRTFC) are proud to announce that after three years of hard work, including lobbying Local, State and Federal levels of Government, and countless meetings and working groups with NSW Touch, local environmental groups and local residential groups we have secured Waterworth Park as our home ground.
The acquisition of Waterworth Park enables Cooks River Titans to realise further potential in growth and long term stability. The fledgling club in its first two years has already amassed close to 300 registered players across ages from under 6’s through to over 35’s, including all girls teams. All this was achieved with a home ground of Gough Whitlam Park, with no lights for training and our alternate home ground Beaman Park with no change rooms or amenities. By securing two fields at Waterworth Park, the club will be able to centralise its operation and with the cooperation and assistance from Canterbury-Bankstown Council and potential State and Federal Government funding, will be able to develop a clubhouse, including change rooms, toilets, canteen and club function area.
Further to that, the existing fields at Waterworth Park, which are currently used by NSW Touch will be completely upgraded including drainage, resurfacing and improved lighting, to allow for multi-purpose use by NSW Touch and Cooks River Titans.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Canterbury-Bankstown Council, State Member for Canterbury Ms Sophie Cotsis, Federal Member for Barton Hon. Linda Burney, Former Canterbury Councillor Esta Paschalidis-Chilas and Linda Isler as well as Former Canterbury City Council Mayor Brian Robson, General Manager of NSW Touch Mr. Dean Russel, Wolli Creek Preservation Society, Cooks River Alliance, The Mud crabs, Local Residents Representative Mr. Chris McGuire, Canterbury District Soccer Football Association, Hurlstone Park Wanderers, The Canterbury-Bankstown Express, The Torch Newspaper and last but not least all our players and their families, supporters and officials.
As a result of this historic achievement Cooks River Titans FC will be holding an event in the near future to celebrate this huge milestone in the clubs existence.
Regards,
The Committee of Cooks River Titans FC
