THIS WEEKEND'S FINALS ACTION

Our first team through to the Grand Final is playing this Sunday.

Our Under 13 Girls will be playing their Grand Final on Sunday at Ewen Park (in Hurlstone Park) against Enfield at 12.15pm.

The Titans finished as Minor Premiers but all games against Enfield this year have been extremely tough. In round 2, Enfield prevailed 2-1 but that score was reversed in Round 10 when Cooks River played at home. Merely two weeks ago the Titans defeated Enfield in the major semi final 2-0 to progress straight into the Grand Final but Enfield managed to dispose of Burwood 3-0 last weekend to book their place for the big match.

After moving up a division and quite a few of the players playing above their age it is a fantastic achievement to get this far. Good luck girls!

Another team which will be playing a on Sunday are our Under 17/2 boys (well they are pretty much men now). They won the minor premiership last week after securing a 3-0 win. They ended up finishing level on points with Canterbury but according to the association rules (1.8.2) the are crowned minor premiers as they had a better head-to-head record. They secured the minor premiership by scoring 53 goals and conceding a measly 20 goals in 15 matches played.

They will play Canterbury on Sunday at 2.20pm at Bennett Park (in Roselands) in the major semi final with the winner going straight to the grand final. In the two previous matches with Canterbury they lost 4-2 in the first match but managed to completely reverse that and then some by winning 4-1 in the second.

The U17/2s top of the table finish means the Cooks River Titans were crowned Minor Premiers across 4 competitions: U13/1 Girls, U17/2 Boys, AA9 Men and AA13 Men. A fantastic achievement for a small club

Best of luck to all both teams and if you get a chance why not go out and support them.
